Sealed or open and signed
« on: July 17, 2011, 07:31:20 PM »
For future value purposes, would it be better to have a factory sealed World of Warcraft Collectors Edition or an opened World of Warcraft Collectors Edition that came from Blizzard signed by the developers and designers?

Just my opinion of course, but I think the signatures are the value.  Plastic wrap will always eventually fail... especially if displayed in lights with too much UV frequency in them. (e.g. Sunlight, or fluorescent lights)
If the signatures are on the box directly, I think that holds more value... but I also don't collect or own any signed game related items.

I am a Collector/Gamer who plays mostly FPS's, pre-WinXP, on PC and Consoles, but also play other types of classic games on consoles, handhelds, and Plug-n-Play systems. From Pong to GTA series.  I enjoy them all. :)
Also I collect Shovelware/compilations/official add-ons for most PC FPS's. :)

Assuming both boxes are in the same state I'd say the latter. Easily.

Having a boxed signed and sealed is also possible, I have such a box of Duke Nukem 3D. The developers signed it and sealed it in plastic after it.
