Forum update coming (SMF 2.0 Final)
« on: June 17, 2011, 08:45:41 AM »
At long last, SMF 2.0 Final has been released and so I will update forums in the next week (or at least make a brave attempt at doing it). Updating make take a while and before that I will lock the forums and start with backing up the database.

Sounds good, Just wanted to say thanks for starting this place up and keeping it running in your spare time.
Good to have a place where like minded people can share and help each other with their collections.

I am a Collector/Gamer who plays mostly FPS's, pre-WinXP, on PC and Consoles, but also play other types of classic games on consoles, handhelds, and Plug-n-Play systems. From Pong to GTA series.  I enjoy them all. :)
Also I collect Shovelware/compilations/official add-ons for most PC FPS's. :)

Update successful! Yippie!  ;D As of now, we're running the latest version of one of the greatest open-source forum systems in the world.  8) The banner I made disappeared and I will restore it at a later time. There shouldn't be any issues as far as I know.

If you're seeing that the pages look half empty then it might be necessary to reload the complete page by pressing Ctrl + F5. This overwrites any browser cache.

Great, only problems i can see atm, are the reply button at the bottom has some white image over it (not a big problem, it still works), and when you actually type a reply to something the text input box is too wide for the screen, i am assuming these are
from the update as they were not present before,

btw im running firefox 4, i haven't tried it in any other browsers.

both issues i can live with as they are not a big problem, just thought i would point it out.

thanks

I'm not experiencing those issues and I'm running version 4.0.1 of Firefox. Could you post a screenshot of it?

For the reply button it looks like a brower cache bug, Ctrl + F5 could fix it (I had some graphical glitches myself until I refreshed the cache). As for the reply box I don't see it myself;

Don't have much of a clue what could cause it.

np

Funny white thing on the reply button

Super wide text box that i cant see the end of.
I get the same little White Tab looking spots like in the first image... no big deal.  Other than missing the excellent banner images Iggy made here is what I have hit.

***edit*** Right margin issue workaround.  See this post... http://forums.my-collections.eu/index.php/topic,335.msg4240.html#msg4240

=================
As I type a message like this one, the message text does not wrap and scrolls over a great distance wider than my screen. <?>  Doesn't seem to hurt anything though.  Just scrolls off the boundaries of the site.
I don't think this is a resolution issue anymore because the length I can type off the screen.  In a longer post elsewhere it went several times the width of my screen outside of boundaries.  I will test it in IE.
I am using Google Chrome on XP. :)
My maximum screen resolution is 1024x600.  Maybe that has something to do with it.  It does seem to wrap eventually, but it is WAY out there.

I will look around and see if any other anomalies pop up. :)

**edit** The ever-sliding right, right boundary does not occur in IE on the same computer... must be an issue specific to Chrome.
It is missing something to do with the box text box defs.  The result is and endless box length... from the looks of this view of the Metrics.  The dimensions displayed in the box represent current size. Look at this image.

Look here at the scripting for the box... I don't know it, but there must be a call/command issue because the style command at 98.8% of the text area is correct and identified, but the scroll bar scripting is not working right in Chrome I think.  Here it is...
