Well... I have been away for a while.  I updated my GameRoom thread in the General section for anyone interested.

As far as my game collection... little has changed, but I do have a couple of new ones.

Because WizardWorks (with Sunstorm/Infrogames) made my favorite addons for Duke Nukem (Caribbean and Duke It Out in D.C.) I have tried to buy most everything I could that they were involved in... as far as First Person games.
I like that they went out of their way to try and publish REALLY strange types of games when everyone else was stuck on the DooM formula for building games...  Don't get me wrong, I have over 300 FPS's and their addon's for the PC, and I love those games first and foremost.  But then there is the "others" I have in my FPS collection that aren't really "DooM-a-Likes"... like Deer Hunter Collection. You still shoot, so close enough for me.
However... WizardWorks/InfroGames made (published mostly) odd games like these:

1.  Police Tactical Training.  A game where your character is in a Police firearms training camp.  Considered non-violent because you are always shooting practice targets.
(Not my images)

2.  911 Fire Rescue.  Just that.  You are a fireman in first person.  You have various ways to put out the fires of different types. (Hose, Handheld Extinguishers, Foam, etc) and you search buildings trying to find people overcome by smoke etc.

3.  Shark! Hunting the Great White.  A first Person spear fishing game.

4.  Laser Area.  A laser tag game... trying once again to offer that non-violence type of game.

There are others, but that is the main ones of interest to me anyway.

Note that all of these games are mediocre really... I still like them, but they are really lacking in development for the most part... each in their own way.

Well I have ONE WizardWorks Title left on my list to find at a reasonable price... Shark! Hunting the Great White.  I have been watching for it for a few years.  Boxed it is rare and expensive.  I have about a $30 limit for these obscure titles normally.  I know there are a few boxes once on eBay at times, but $50 to $100 is too much for me.

My most recent addition was (8.5 of 10) 911 Fire Rescue though... excellent!

Of course WizardWorks published games like Carnivores series also... big stuff like that.

Anyway... nothing new in the PC FPS games other than that one, but it was important to my collection. :)

I am a Collector/Gamer who plays mostly FPS's, pre-WinXP, on PC and Consoles, but also play other types of classic games on consoles, handhelds, and Plug-n-Play systems. From Pong to GTA series.  I enjoy them all. :)
Also I collect Shovelware/compilations/official add-ons for most PC FPS's. :)

A little update today... finally got a near perfect Duke Nukem 3D for the Tiger Game.Com.
While I must admit this is the worst version of Duke 3D I have ever played, I liked the classic box in its miniature size. :)

I am always glad when I can add anything Duke Nukem to my collection, even if in this case it is only for the really cute little box.

I took the image against a full size Duke Nukem 3D (PC) so you could see just how small these things really are. :)

Working a lot in the game room still, so not many updates lately.  I will update my Game Room thread in a few weeks with new images. Doing Audio, Video, and Data wiring now.

Anyway, here is the latest major addition... not a game, but for the series of games of which my room is themed.  Duke Nukem... Zero Hour Standee. :)
I bought this brand new in its original shipping box.  Distributed by GT Interactive.  It is 3D as you can see more clearly in the second image. :)

I keep thinking about this item and how rare it really is.  There is probably not a lot of New game related items left that are 12+ Years old.  If you think back to game stores in 1998, this type of display was not made for every game out there, nor were they in every game store.  They were of course pushing the Nintendo 64 stuff hard as it was the last of a dying format, (Cartridge) drowning in the wake of CD based systems like the PS1 and Sega.  I greatly enjoy my 64.  I won't say the old cliche that it is an under-rated system, because it sold well and most console gamers really enjoyed them.  Even Quake II worked quite well on this system!
Of course in the last few years, every major game has multiple displays and standees etc to push them in game stores everywhere... but not so in 1998.
I think this shows just how big Duke Nukem was back in 1998.  I am very happy to have this item in my collection and game room.
