Return to Castle Wolfenstein - Large tin case version
« on: November 10, 2010, 09:33:01 AM »
I know that there's a special edition of Return to Castle Wolfenstein that comes in a tin case which is about the size of a DVD-case (this one, which I got). I've also seen photo's of a larger tin case version, about as big as the Elite Edition of Quake 3 Arena. Does anyone have more information about this release for me? Would it be hard to get it?

Edit;
I think this is the large tin case version by the looks of the small logos at the bottom.

Large Tin is the US release I think. The one you have would be the European release.

not sure of the tin sizes, but there are 3 different coloured tins,

Black Silver and Blue.

not exactly sure on this but something along the lines of

Best Buy - Blue tin
Game Stop - Silver tin
Electronics Boutique - Black tin
Comp USA - Silver tin

Contents also differed as some came out with a clothes patch and a poster, some others just with the poster and a bonus cd and others only with the bonus cd

There is both difference in size (at least thickness) and color. This is what Iggy meant I think:

The 'thin' version (which I believe was the EU release)

and the 'thick' version

Now the color is a mystery for me as well. You theory sound interesting though. Would they really give only a distinct color to a specific retailer?

Never knew a different color version existed. That big tin case looks good (which is what I meant).

Awesome!  Metal boxes.  :)
I love those... I think I only have the one Quake III Arena one.
